Southern Cross Club Description:
Located on Little Cayman Island, the Southern Cross resort was said to be founded in 1959 when Little Cayman boasted a population of roughly 12. Now claiming to have a bustling population of about 100, Little Cayman continues to be one of the least developed tropical islands in the western hemisphere.
This resort is apparently known for diving, fishing and just plain relaxing. Guests say it has a touch of charm, comfort and hospitality to go with it.
Southern Cross Club Facilities:
The club staff apparently supply information, rental equipment or facilities for many activities including: scuba, fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, beach combing, picnics, shelling, hammock tending, sunset cruises, badminton, horseshoes, and island games such as Waurie, & ring toss.
The Southern Cross Club dock is said to extend into where the Club's dive boats, fishing skiffs, and sea kayaks are either on the dock or moored just off shore.
Southern Cross Club Rooms:
The Southern Cross claims to have 11 beach front cottages with views of the Caribbean and the white sand beach. All cottages are apparently air conditioned, have ceiling fans and are simply furnished. Guests say the Southern Cross Club has no TV's or telephones to disturb the silence.
Since the Club is located on the windward side of the island, the visitors say an open window allows them to enjoy a fresh tropical breeze and the sound of waves breaking on the barrier reef.
